Next to 9 Sudoku 2015 - 1

A Happy New Year to all the puzzlers out there. May 2015 fulfil most if not all your dreams :)

We are just 1 day away from the start of the 2015 World Sudoku Grand Prix. All the best to all the participants. Here is one last practice puzzle before we head into the first leg of the Sudoku GP.

Today we have a Next to 9 Sudoku. Digits outside the grid indicate the digits that encompass the digit 9 in that row or column.

Round Off Sudoku 2014 - 1

Lets try another Sudoku which will be appearing in the First leg of the Sudoku Grand Prix 2015. This is a Round Off Sudoku.

Rules of Classic Sudoku apply. Additionally, each cage represents the rounded off value for the two digit number inside the cage to the nearest multiple of 10. Ending digits 1-4 are rounded down and 5-9 are rounded up.

All Odd All Even Sudoku 2014 - 1

It has been a long time since I created and posted a puzzle. Work has been hectic at office.

With the Sudoku Grand Prix set to begin next weekend, here is a practice sudoku.

Rules of Classic sudoku apply. Additionally, grey cells in each region contain all odd or all even digits.

Hope you enjoy this and I will try to make it more frequent :)

Chain Sudoku 2014 - 1

It has been a long time and with the second leg of Sudoku Mahabharat coming up, thought will create and post a Chain Sudoku. This will help you guys in preparing for the second episode.

Fill the grid such that every row, column and chain of connected circles has the digits 1 to 9 without any repetition.

This is of Medium Difficulty.

Bent Diagonal Sudoku 2014 - 2

And Another Bent Diagonal sudoku today.

Rules of Classic Sudoku apply. Additionally, there are 4 Bent Diagonals marked in the grid. Digits cannot repeat on any of the Bent Diagonals.

Mirror Sudoku 2014 - 1

Continuing my tryst with newer variants, today we have a mirror sudoku.

Rules of Classic Sudoku apply. Additionally, Boxes 1 and 9 are mirror images of each other. Similarly boxes 3 and 7 are mirror images of each other.

3D Sudoku 2014 - 1

Today is a 3D sudoku for the Daily League. It has been nearly a year since I have posted in the Daily League. So here is hoping that it is well received.

Place a number from 1-8 in each cell such that each generalised row and marked 8-cell box contains each number once. Note that generalised rows pass through parallel edges of adjacent cells.

Bent Diagonal 2014 - 1

Another new variation that I tried yesterday. This is a Bent Diagonal Sudoku. I am actually starting to enjoy creating newer variations which I have not done before.

Rules of Classic Sudoku apply. Additionally, there are 4 Bent Diagonals marked in the grid. Digits cannot repeat on any of the Bent Diagonals.

Star Sudoku 2014 - 1

Today I tried my hand at a Star Sudoku. This is also of easy-medium difficulty.

Put the numbers 1 through 9 into the triangular cells so that each of 6 large triangles and every line (of any length, even uncontinuous) contains every digit not more than once. Some lines may contain less than 9 digits.

Fortress Sudoku 2014 - 1

I have decided to dabble in variants that I have not created before. So today we deal with a Fortress Sudoku. It is of an easy-medium difficulty level.

There is a Fortress marked by grey cells in the grid. Place numbers in the grid such that each row, column and 3x3 box contain the numbers 1 to 9. If a shaded cell and a white cell are orthogonally adjacent then the shaded cell has the greater value.

Sudoku-Kurve 2014 - 1

Came back from an average WSC... Highs were India finishing at the best ever position of 6th in the team event. Personally a good showing in the GP playoffs. More about that later.

Came home and decided to try my hand at Sudo-Kurve.

Standard Sudoku rules (insert a number in the indicated range into each cell so that no number repeats in any “row” or bold region). Some “rows” bend as indicated by following the curved lines.

Non-Consecutive Sudoku 2014 - 1

Today we have a Non-Consecutive Sudoku. The twist is instead of 1 to 9, it has digits 0 to 8 to fit into the theme of 2014. I know we are already halfway through the year but then better late than never :)

This is one of the puzzles that I had created for the Qualifying rounds of the Polish National Championship.

Happy Solving.

Diagonal Sudoku 2014 - 1

Here is a Diagonal Sudoku with the clue theme of 2014. It is an easy puzzle.

Enjoy.

Wordoku 2014 - 1

It has been a really long time since I posted a puzzle and I finally decided to start creating some for practice before the WSC. Though some of the puzzles that I will be posting might not feature in the WSC these are more for general practice for people. Since TSC in India does have a Wordoku in it(assuming same variants as last year appear), I thought better to start of with a Wordoku which uses "SUDOKUMANIA", eliminating repeated letters.

So here is to happy solving and hoping I am able to post more frequently.
